| Reported aboard the Charles
Berry at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii in Nov. 1962, and started my first WesPac. At age
19 it was very exciting to see other parts of the world. I made new friendships
that I would continue after leaving the Berry a year later for EM "A" School in
San Diego. After graduation I was assigned to the
USS Kittyhawk
(CVA-63) where I would finish out my enlistment, and complete two more
WesPac's, including duty off the coast of Viet Nam during the war.
