I am Marvin R. Smith, EN3, plank owner of the USS Charles Berry, DE1035. I served aboard until September 1962. I was assigned to A and M divisions while onboard. I was the catcher on the ships ball team. Included above is where I currently accept mail.I travel in my RV and am currently staying in Desert Hot Springs, CA.
I left the ship in September 1962 to attend Navy Nuclear Power School and served on the USS Enterprise CVA(N) 65 until October 1967 when I left the navy for family reasons.
The web site brought back many happy memories of my time aboard the "cleanest ship in the navy". I am pictured along with CMDR Robinson in the anniversary book. I am the catcher, he is the swinging batter.
