EN3 Raich went on to serve in the U.S. Army Reserve with Company C, 854th Engineering Battalion (Combat Heavy), and retired as a Staff Sergeant in 2000.
EN3 Raich had previously served on the submarine U.S.S. Skipjack (SSN-585) prior to assignment to the Charles Berry. SSG (EN3)
Raich is survived by 4 sons, 3 of whom are currently serving or have retired from the United States Army.
